Chair's Welcome
Welcome to the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Group (PENG), a specialist group of the British Dietetic Association (BDA). PENG started in 1982 as a group of 67 dietitians and company representatives interested in nutrition support. In 1984 it was formally recognised as a BDA specialist group. The primary aim of PENG is to support dietitians working in oral, enteral and parenteral nutrition to have access to best/evidenced-based practice and to support advancing practice. PENG is recognised nationally and internationally as a professional voice for the dietetic profession working in nutrition support both for and on behalf of the BDA. PENG is also a founding member of the British association of Enteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN). PENG is formed of a committee of experienced volunteers but relies heavily on the valuable input and contributions from all its members.
We hope that this website, in addition to our twitter @BDA_PENG, PENlines newsletter, regular educational events and resources including the Pocket Guide to Clinical Nutrition and masters level Clinical Update Course are an expert source for our members to maintain and support their professional development in order to deliver excellence in nutrition support.
We welcome you to get in touch if you have any questions.
Linda Cantwell, PENG Chair
