Editors welcome
Welcome to this edition of e-PENlines!
As soon as schools go back the weather becomes more confusing, and we start to enter conference season too, plus as my son would say having to wear long legs rather than short legs in reference to the weather! This edition is jam-packed with updates, some of which we have not been able to fit in and so will add to the pre-Christmas edition.
Some of this issues highlights include: a good mix of feedback from those who were lucky enough to win a free place on this year's PENG Clinical Update Course; breaking news of those who have won this year's PENG Award 2014; outcome measures in nutrition support – what do we actually mean? in the form of our Hot Topic discussion; news of a Committee member winning an Award; an Elevator Interview with dietitian Emma Harewood, who is Director of Integration at Surrey Heath CCG; PENG Clinical Research and Audit survey feedback, and much, much more.
To give you a taste of what will come in the next edition of e-PENlines we will have a paediatric focus in conjunction with the Paediatric Group, plus more details about the new patient resources ready for 2015, and the work of the Nutrition and Hydration Action Alliance – if you would like to know more you will certainly find out in great detail in the next edition of e-PENlines.
As always please feedback or send us anything you would like us to share with members whether via email, website and/or e-PENlines by emailing us at: peng@bda.uk.com. If you have been to any conferences or study days recently or wish to share any best practice again please do let us know.
Hopefully, we will see some of you at our AGM in October and if you are at BAPEN please do come and visit the PENG stand.
Best wishes,
Kate Hall, PENlines Editor and PENG Communications Officer
