Chair's update

Kate Hall, PENG Chair
As the ‘sizzling’ Summer of 2018 is hopefully continuing when you read this, it seems like a far cry from the time of the short and cold, dark days of November, which is when our AGM will be held on day one of BAPEN Conference – 20th November 2018.
However, before we get to that time of year, we have our annual PENG Study Day on September 26th focusing on parenteral nutrition and you can view the programme HERE if you have not registered yet! The study day promises to be an interactive, thought provoking day and may also provide a sneak peek at the updated PENG Pocket Guide to Clinical Nutrition.
This edition of e-PENlines is truly varied as you can catch up on what you missed at the PENG Clinical Update Course from some of our PENG members who won a free place onto this year's course; plus feedback from PENG Award Winner Bruno Mafrici as he used the funds to enable him to travel and attend a renal conference this year; Robyn Collery shares her experiences of working in a Vanguard Care Home environment and all of the exciting opportunities that has bought to raise the profile of the value of dietetics; a call out to members who may wish to get involved in contributing to Complete Nutrition – click here for more details – and an introduction to the new Chairman of the BDA via our regular Elevator Interview.
Finally, before you move onto reading this Summer edition, as a Committee we would like to welcome Emily Walters who is joining us as a link between PENG committee and BAPEN's BANS committee.
Hope you enjoy this edition of e-PENlines, and please do not forget to get in touch with us with any news or views that you would like to share with other members and which we could include in future editions.
Best wishes,

P.S. Please do not forget to go to the PENG website to see the videos posted from last year's PENG Study Day which focused on the PENG Pocket Guide to Clinical Nutrition: www.peng.org.uk/publications-resources/pocket-guide.php
